Is it possible to turn on/off other wifi devices (for instance a wifi smart plug) with a dingz button?
frelaur , please tell us the brand and type of the switch and perhaps someone can help you with a example.
Hi, If the devices have an open interface on http then commands can be used to turn the switches on or off. In the web interface of the dingz, the commands are assigned to the keys.
Thank you! It's a TP-link HS110
I do this with Shelly switches and that works just fine. They are cheap, and I with the Shelly Button you can use them to switch on/of table and standing lamps etc... Basically with devices that have a well documented API that you can just send HTTP requests to it is easy.
Thank you for your reply Krist ! My knowledge in electricity is pretty limited. Do you know where I could find information about how to install a Shelly module behind a Swiss socket (triple T13)?
frelaur My experience is that behind a Swiss triple T13 socket there isn't really enough space for a Shelly. But they do come with documentation and a schema. I put mine usually in the central distribution box.
Note for others: Shelly Plug S are easily usable through Action URLs from Dingz. I was not feeling confident enough to buy a Shelly module as I wouldn't know how to install it behind a Swiss socket. If anyone has information on how to do it, please share 🙂 Thank you!
